Driving to our chalets

If you’ve always dreamed of taking a road trip across France and into the Alps, maybe now is the time! As an alternative to taking our inclusive flights, you could choose self-drive ski holidays and drive instead. Drive through the countryside and stop off and marvel at some of the incredible beauty France offers.

The journey to all of our resorts is relatively straightforward, and we provide comprehensive directions if you choose self-drive ski holidays – including SatNav coordinates for your chalet. That means you can take a no-pressure leisurely drive through the countryside and get two holidays in one.

How To Plan For Self-Drive Ski Holidays

If you decide to go for the self-drive ski holidays option, we recommend Eurotunnel FlexiPlus service. You’ll have flexibility, will avoid boarding queues and get access to an exclusive lounge where you can stock up on complimentary drinks, snacks and newspapers. What a way to start your road trip holiday to the Alps!

If you’re unsure of the best option or timings to book, we may be able to book your crossing for you at a supplement. We are dedicated to ensuring your holiday runs as smoothly as possible, so simply ask us for details when you call and book your ski holiday.

While road trips through France are an amazing and creative way to start your ski holiday, do remember there are extra costs to take into account. For starters, you’ll need fuel – and a lot of it! Then there are the many tolls throughout France to consider and budget for. Also, make sure to invest in and use snow chains – your safety is incredibly important!

It’s a long distance you’ll be covering, so we recommend scheduling some stops on the way. A little overnight stay in Auxerre would give you the chance to rest as well as see the stunning gothic architecture of the town. And why not stop off at the Natural History Museum while you’re there, too, before continuing your self-drive road trip to the mountains?

Of course, you’ll need car insurance to cover you to drive in France. And don’t forget the breakdown insurance, either. With two long journeys ahead of you, you can never be too careful!

Please note that because our flights have been pre-purchased and are included in all of our holidays, we are unable to offer a reduction in price if you choose the self-drive ski holidays option of travelling to your chalet.

But no matter how you are planning on getting to us, we can’t wait for you to have the holiday of a lifetime with us!
